Hole in one!

The Max Clifford Celebrity Golf Challenge this year has proved to be one of the greatest events in the Rhys Daniels Trusts calendar. Sponsored by our Key Sponsor Pimlico Plumbers and we were very fortunate this year to also attract the support of the Obelisk Group and Teleview both based on the Costa del Sol.

The entire event was filmed for a 1 ½ hour golf special to be screened on Sky Sports 1 & 3 on 23rd and 24th June with 5 repeat showings. Chris Tarrant was in perfect form presenting the golf event on behalf of the Rhys Daniels Trust and to the delight of SKY TV. Riding around both the Asia and Europa golf courses at the La Cala Resort in Spain interviewing the players and mixing it up on the fairways with his fellow celebrities.

The event was hosted by Max Clifford Vice-Patron of the charity and also taking part was the co-founder & chairman of the Rhys Daniels Trust, Barry Daniels. In his own words he said “it was one of our greatest events ever, such a fabulous atmosphere that surrounded the event throughout the weekend and carried through to the Butterfly Ball on the Saturday evening in Marbella. We were so lucky to have such a great mixture of old and new supporters of the charity that were keen on doing one thing, having a great time and raising lots of money for our 'Home from Home' appeal. The weekend ended up with a celebrity auction at the Hotel Puente Romano including some superb entertainment from Bobby Davro, Stan Boardman and Jes Conrad. Mike Osman who hosts the Butterfly Ball in London was there to take care of the fundraising during the evening and the event in total raised £150,000.
