Press Release: Wednesday 30th September saw the re-launch of the Rhys Daniels Trust, Bristol 'Home from Home' project celebrating its 10 year Anniversary since this project first opened its doors.

Rhys’ amazing story was covered so avidly by the world’s media in 1993 when he took the Government to the High Court in London to ensure the pioneering treatment went ahead before he fell victim to the devastating effects of Battens Disease.

The Bristol 10th Anniversary is a very special milestone for the Rhys Daniels Trust as it was where Rhys, received both of his pioneering Bone Marrow Transplants in 1993 and 1994 and where the charity was first conceived. The 'Home from Homes' (Charly’s House and Rhys’ House) have proved to be a great success and offered a life-line in helping hundreds of families with very sick children being treated at the Bristol Children’s Hospital in the past 10 years.

The Elliot family (pictured above with actor Billy Murray (left) and Barry Daniels (right)) were staying in Charly’s House and joined us in celebrating the Homes' 10 year Anniversary. The Elliot's were staying in the Home with their son Mathew, whilst their other son Marc was undergoing bone marrow transplant treatment at the Bristol Children’s Hospital.
